‘First-Steps’ is a purpose- built Montessori pre-school catering for children from 2 ½ years up to 5 years. We are in business since September 2002. We are situated 2 miles from Castleisland town. We cater for children from Castleisland, Knocknagoshel, Currow, Cordal, Scartaglen and surrounding areas. We offer the ECCE scheme -free preschool year scheme.

Our curriculum at ‘First-Steps’ is based on Montessori and Aistear. Our mission is to provide a safe, secure ‘home from home’ environment where all children are respected, valued and encouraged to develop to their full potential.

‘First-Steps’ is a country based facility which allows for lots of opportunities for nature walks, adventures, outdoor play and farm visits. There is also ample parking to facilitate drop -off and collection time.

All our staffs are experienced, qualified, friendly and consistent and regularly engage in continuous professional development training.
We have an inclusive environment and work closely with Kerry Intervention and Disability Services and AIM co-ordinator to help children with additional needs.
